31DC2015 Day 9 Rainbow: Classic Petal Water Marble

Darn my darndid iMovie slowing down my whole computer! Okay granted I have been on it for quite awhile and its getting a little hot hmm maybe I should give it a break? Nah! I need to get this manicure out to you guys I’m sure my computer will understand! I’ll have the video tutorial for this up when my iMovie wants to cooperate with me.

Are there really any words that I need to say to explain how much awesome sauce this manicure posses?! When Pipe Dream Polishes hit the market last year they floored everyone with their fantastical neon hues and impeccable water marbling formulas. Their neon colors have gained so much hype that they’ve become so hard to get! The demand exceed the restocks and it is just insane in the membrane! On a nicer note once you have these in your hands you have a feeling of not only excitement but pure joy. Neons that water marble are like liquid gold in my book.

It was inevitable that I do a rainbow water marble using the Street Carnival collection from Pipe Dream Polish for todays 31 day challenge prompt. Rainbow is after all my favorite color. I could stare at my nails until I went blind I love these so much! The saddest part about this manicure is that I need to take it off to do the next prompt. Wahh I don’t wanna go to school mom! I mean I don’t wanna take these nails off! Wahhh!

Alright enough crying you crazy rainbow lady. Around this time lat year I posted my first YouTube tutorial using Pipe Dream Polishes Night In Vegas collection which has since then skyrocketed in views! So that was another reason I had to use these polishes!

I’ve included a quick nail prep routine as well as a list of products needed to water marble in my latest video tutorial. Check it out below!

These polishes can be hard to get but make sure to check Pipe Dream Polishes site periodically to grab yours!

31DC2015 Day 8 Metallic: Nail Foil Fun

Mmmk it’s official folks! I’m mucking in love with nail foil! I’ve used it once before but using it for todays Metallic prompt of the 31 day challenge is a whole different story. First off I only have one roll of foils but thankfully its five different colors, if only it had blue then this would be a true foiled rainbow, but hey I think it looks great anyway!

I used a base of Aengland ‘Camelot to help the foil really stand out and I had some foil glue which helped with application SOOOO MUCH! No wonder they call it foil glue. HA! Both the glue and this roll of foil was give to me a long time ago by one of my very favorite people, Jo of Lacquer Lust. Thanks to her for me being able to create this manicure! I was thinking about stamping overtop of it but I didn’t even attempt that I’m too much in love with the outcome on its own. For reals people I need all the foils out there, like gimme em all!

This macro is what I live for, I drool every time I see it.

There aren’t too many tutorials on how to apply nail foil out there so I figured why not whip up a quick one for you all! Check it out below!

31DC2015 Day 4 Green: Water Marbled Leaves!

Umm people, is this really my blog? Are those really my fingers? I’m not sure if its mucking humanly possible to have posted on my blog for four days in a row and made two tutorials along with those posts?! I simply can’t believe my eyes. On top of all that I’ve gone and the unthinkable and did some water marbling and advanced stamping TOGETHER! Tedious work at times yes but I like the outcome.

Okay so bear with me folks this is the first time I’ve done a full on advanced stamping manicure and only my second time trying the technique. The tips got a little rusty and I fudged up the pinky but by the middle finger I got the hang of things and figured out my process. At first I was like hmm maybe I’ll do some like marbleized grass but then I was thinking hmm how can I make it even better…… STAMPING! I think the next time I do this the outcome will be much neater. But I have left perfection behind and am having fun with it all!

My eyes are hurting but I got another tutorial done and up! Check it out below!

Tutorial: LVX Spring 15′ Classy Retro Water Marble

Im not sure what it is about getting back into the groove of things but for some reason I’m having a real hard time with getting motivated to do pretty much anything. Dam this horrible depression and rut that I am experiencing! It’s my own darn fault and I just need to put my big girl panties on and deal with it!

I still have a bunch of designs that I did over two months ago that I still need to share with you all and its not like they are bad or anything I’ve just kept brushing it off, always getting defeated. But not today, NO! Today I will be sharing this loverly manicure using, as you may know, one of my favorite brands, LVX. Not only are their lacquers vegan and cruelty free they are inspired by fashion and always have perfect formulas, not to mention they marble wonderfully.

The colors I used for this design are from LVX’s Spring 2015 collection (I know I’m far behind) and like always are beautifully crafted together. Each one of these colors has a similar shimmery finish to them. Noir is a blackish grey shimmer to it while Haze is a lovely lilac hue. But both of these colors have a tinge of grey to them. I used Fuchsia along with these two other muted colors to help it really pop. I’m loving this unconventional color combo.  IMG_0691

And with all the kittens in my life right meow I tend to take photos with them and my nails, so yeaaaaaaa. HA! This little guy was from the last litter, he was the sweetest deaf kitty, always curling up next to me. His bright white color was a nice background for this design.

See the tutorial for this design below!

You can find Noir, Haze and Fushcia on LVX’s Shop along with the rest of the Spring 2015 collection and many other amazing colors.

4th of July Water Marble Nail Art TUTORIAL

I’m back from my family trip to Costa Rica and I couldn’t feel better! What a beautiful country and place to spend two wholes weeks in! It was a great bonding and learning experience for me! I have soooo many great photos of wildlife and I’ve been thinking hmm maybe I’ll do some nail art to match. Yea, how about a string of Costa Rican wildlife themed nail art woohoo for good ideas!

Speaking of good ideas here’s one I had before I even left for my trip. It’s funny because I did this design in the beginning of June but I somehow didn’t get it edited and out until nowwww, the first week of July so yea ya know I hope it still helps some people and you enjoy it! Using a wonderful semi-new product from April of Pipe Dream Polish I was able to achieve these crisp clean lines of red, white and blue. Clearwater is a clear coat of polish, not a base or a topcoat, just a clear polish with the intention of water marbling with. Hence the middle finger with the sparkliness which is Pipe Dream Polishes ‘Cha-Ching’ overtop of Aenglands ‘Excalibur Renaissance’ as this thick glitter was easier to apply and take off with this silver base.

I of course tested out which colors to use before putting them on my nail and OPI’s ‘Eurso… Euro’ and ‘Red Hot Rio’ took the cake. My white base is the ever faithful ‘Carpe Diem’  from Cirque colors, I’m already on my second bottle.

TUTORIAL: Water Marbled Christmas Tree Holiday Nails

Yay more holiday nails! Feels great to be able to relax and do my nails whenever I please. It took me a little while to get sick of my previous manicure which is way this design is coming to you all a little later then I would have liked it to. But thats fine because this manicure is super fab! I love utilizing a water marble to make it look like something else. I did these water marbled Christmas trees last year with the snowy background and I had to do them again so I could make a tutorial; check it out down below or on my YouTube!

The above photo is the glossy version and then I put some matte topcoat on it below. I like the matte version more since you can really see all the details. For the water marble I used Rescue Beauty Lounge ‘Recycle’ and ‘Become One’ which work perfect in the water. One question I get a lot about marbling are which type of brands work best. Just to briefly mention a few I’ve seen success with OPI, Zoya, Sally Hansen and Wet N’ Wild creams. It really is just a lot of trial and error. To block off the trees I used some straight Nail Vinyls and for the snowy background I used Cult Nails ‘Time Traveler’ along with some acrylic paint. The ornaments and star are some from eBay that I got awhile back. With this water marble I got to try out a new to me product from Kiesque that does the job of the masking tape. Liquid Palisade, the purple stuff in my video, is sort of latex that helps prevent cleanup for many types of nail art. I hope to have a full review of this product in the coming weeks, I think I am really going to like it!

I had lots of fun with this manicure and can’t wait to wear it for the next few days leading up to Christmas. The tutorial I made is a little on the long side and I ended up taking two minutes off of it before finalizing the video. This lead to me sacrificing some of the tips I added in during some portions of the video. If you have any questions or concerns at all please let me know!
