31DC2015 Day 4 Green: Water Marbled Leaves!

Umm people, is this really my blog? Are those really my fingers? I’m not sure if its mucking humanly possible to have posted on my blog for four days in a row and made two tutorials along with those posts?! I simply can’t believe my eyes. On top of all that I’ve gone and the unthinkable and did some water marbling and advanced stamping TOGETHER! Tedious work at times yes but I like the outcome.

Okay so bear with me folks this is the first time I’ve done a full on advanced stamping manicure and only my second time trying the technique. The tips got a little rusty and I fudged up the pinky but by the middle finger I got the hang of things and figured out my process. At first I was like hmm maybe I’ll do some like marbleized grass but then I was thinking hmm how can I make it even better…… STAMPING! I think the next time I do this the outcome will be much neater. But I have left perfection behind and am having fun with it all!

My eyes are hurting but I got another tutorial done and up! Check it out below!

31 Day Challenge: Red Love Themed Nails

Alright folks, things are about to get super serious up in this piece. The 31 Day Challenge for nail art is upon us and I’ve decided to take a swing at it. If you have no clue what I’m referring to check out Chalkboard Nails post HERE. She has taken on the challenge for the past five, thats right five years, and seeing how far she has come is so inspiring. Now believe it or not I personally am not very artsy or good with a paint brush so I hopefully I’ll be able to overcome this.

For the first few days the challenge runs they the rainbow starting with red of course. I tried my luck at some sort of marble design but my bolts were too rusty so I ended up with this love themed design. Sometimes after I finish my nails when I had a hard time figuring out what to do, I get this feeling of, “oh man these aren’t good”, and of course thats not a good feeling. Then after I edit the pictures and start writing I realize that my art and what I’ve done is better then I think. I just need to start giving myself more credit and I know with these next few weeks I will be able to!

Join in on the fun even if you just do a few prompts its great fun to do the same themed nails as many other artist’s in the community! I’m excited to get motivated and see everyones art! WOOTOTHEFREAKINGHOO!

LVX Spring 2015 Camo w/ Moyou Stamping

Yesterday I had a bit of a episode and got super depressed for a few hours. I call it my young-life crisis moments. Being 23 and not knowing exactly where you heading in life, well being any age and not knowing can bring about some real serious stress. So of course I had to have a nice long convo with my mama and all was well after that. Sometimes venting is the best cure for stress. This past weekend I found out that my foot wasn’t broken, got my hair recolored and was featured in Nail It! Magazine twice! I kinda feel like Norma from OITNB blessed me with her healing powers (sorry for all those that don’t watch this show) and now things are falling into place. I have to keep telling myself all is as it should be, all is as it should be.

Well enough personal stuff lets get into something that has also been way overdue and that is LVX’s Spring 2015 collection. You may have seen me post about them before as they are one of my favorite brands from the vast array of beautiful colors to the constantly impressive formulas, they never cease to amaze me, and they are 5-free! Thats why ‘Camo’ swatched below gets it very own post, it’s that extraordinary. The blueish green shimmer in this beauty really makes it a unique shade. The brushes LVX has result in some of the fullest coverage I’ve experienced, Camo took two easy coats for full opacity.

I could have done much more with this shade but I decided to keep it simple with this MoYou London stamping design from Fashionista Plate (04) using Cult Nails ‘Time Traveler’. Lets all just have a moment of silence for the retirement of Cult Nails. Anywho I’m seeing some advanced stamping with this plate in my near future for sure I love the dimensions it holds.

I liked this picture too much not to share it with you all. Ring is from So Nailicious Boutique and its pretty much badass with this pose. Enjoy!

I have three more colors from LVX’s Spring 2015 collection to share with you all as well as their Summer 2015 collection which all work great for water marbling as you will soon see!

Cirque Colors Holo Mermaid

Cirque Colors Holo Mermaid Nails

I’m back! I’m back! I’m back! Like for reals people it’s been a such a long break and I’m totally ready to get my mojo working again. I’m working on an update post about what’s been going on with me but I wanted to go ahead and start sharing the art I’ve been working on. I have a plethora of polishes and products to be reviewed that I’ve been holding back on for quite some time, so get ready for lots of mucking awesome reviews and art in the coming weeks!

Hmmm yeaaaaa mermaid holo spectacularness up in this piece! A long time ago the wonderful Annie of Cirque Colors got in contact with me about reviewing some products of hers. I of course was super super excited and mentioned to her that I had been wanting to grab her Heritage collection for some time as they were such perfect holographic shades. When I received my first package I was surprised with these two beauties which I have been urning to use ever since!

Cirque Colors Holo Mermaid

I had tons of fun with this manicure using Xochitl (Orchid holo) and Cerrillos (turquoise holo) both of which have amazing formulas and colors to them. I did a little stamping and a little stenciling with a little bit of treasure at the bottom of the sea cuz every mermaid needs some gold goodies in their life’s.

Cirque Colors Holo Mermaid

I received a bunch I mean a bunch of stencils from What’s Up Nails to share with you all and this mermaid scale one was just calling my name. From first impression they seem to work great!

Products used:

Cirque Colors – Xochitl and Cerrillos
Tillie Polish – Golden Goddess
Whats Up Nails – Mermaid Stencil
MoYou London – Sailor Plate 07
She Sells Seashells – Mermaid Embellishment
Gold Nail Foil from Amazon

LVX Summer 2014 Nail Art

Provided for review

I couldn’t go without doing some nail art with the LVX Summer 2014 colors I previously reviewed as they are of great quality.

It’s been just too long once again since I have done a water marble but when these LVX Lacquers fell in my lap I knew right away I had to break out the cup and tape and get to work! Using Laguna, Lolli and Porcelain I created a striped water marble which totally reminds me of some sweet candy! If I had had a candy land board you would be getting some shots with it in the background because this mani is just super sweet!

I was also able to further review LVX’s Gel-like Topcoat as I wore this water marble for a whole seven days. The claim that LVX lacquers are chip-resistant is quite true, granted my nails are in a healthy state but some of the polishes I wear chip off within a day or two. This mani looks practically brand new besides my cuticles of course.

Going along with my recent love for stamping I used my new MoYou London Bridal plate 06 with Laguna. Porcelain was a great base to compliment this slightly bright blue.

Using Laguna as my base, a design from MoYou London Sailor plate 07 and decals from Serum No. 5. I was able to create my first nautical themed mani! The gold glitter is Cult Nails Walk of Shame and the gold on my pinky, which I also used the decals for, is Tillie Polish’s Golden Goddess. I’ll be sharing more decals from Serum No. 5 in the coming weeks!

Don’t forget to check out my review of these three LVX shades HERE.

You can find all these colors, the rest of the collection (which I now need) and the Gel-like topcoat on LVX’s website HERE. Also follow LVX on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for sales, giveaways and much more!

You can find the Anchors Away decals from Serum No. 5 HERE which come in many different colors!

Serum No. 5 Neon GITD Review w/ Pueen Stamping

Provided For Review

Ah its feeling so great to have my mojo back! Today I have a bright and fun post to share with you consisting of three Serum No. 5 Glow in the dark Neons paired along with some fun Pueen Stamping using their new Encore plates which I love! With these neons I decided to use a white base to help them pop out a little more resulting in only needing one coat. They did also show full opacity in 2-3 coats.

I Gleam in Pink is an eye searing pink neon cream that glows and orangey-pink in the dark. This one had the least glow effect of the three I tried but under the black light it looked banging. This also had a textured finish due to the glow pigment but with topcoat it smoothed out nicely.

Serum No. 5 I Gleam In Pink GITD

Black and white were really the only colors that stood out nicely as a stamp on this bright color so I went with some black hearts using Cult Nails Nevermore and Pueen SE02A.

Serum No. 5 I Gleam In Pink

Solar Power is a yellow neon cream that glows lime green in the dark. The glow effect was very bright and was probably my favorite for this reason. Using this color over white helped with the application as yellows can be streaky at times.

Serum No. 5 Solar Power GITD

I used Rescue Beautys ‘Become One’ and Pueen SE03B for a sort of lemon lime type of feel. This is the manicure I ended with and am still wearing right now!

Serum No. 5 Solar Power

Orange You Sunny is another eye-searing color with a nice orangey glow to it in the dark. It glows a little brighter then what I was able to capture. Pair this with the other two colors and you’d have a perfect summer mani!

Serum No. 5 Orange you Sunny GITD

I wasn’t feeling most of the colors I tried to use over this shade so I settled with Cult Nails ‘Love at First Sight’ and some nice flowers from Pueen SE02A. I really loved the look of this under the black light!

Serum No. 5 Orange you Sunny

All in all I was impressed with these colors and their glow effect. Serum No. 5 does it once again with their GITD polishes! I love my growing collection of creams from them!

Serum No. 5 Neon Stamping

You can find all these Serum No. 5 colors on their site HERE. Check them out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates on new colors, sales and giveaways!

I’ll have more reviews including products from LVX, Go Starch It, Pipe Dream Polish and Cirque Colors so be on the lookout for those posts!
