31DC2015 Day 11 Polka Dots: Mario Mushrooms

I’ve been hard at work getting caught up with this challenge so why not have two posts in one day?! I decided to take a little different approach for the polka dot prompt of the 31 day challenge and did a design that has been on my to-do list for some time! Mario mushrooms! I love Mario! I even named my dog Yoshi!

If you are a Mario freak like me then you know right away that these are the 1-Up and get bigger mushrooms in all of the Mario games, well they somewhat resemble them at least. Instead of using whiter I began with three coats of LVX ‘Rhone’ from the Fall 2015 collection which resemble the perfect skin tone color.

Saw this image online and felt it matched up perfectly with this design plus I kind of love the saying when comparing it to Mario!IMG_0798

Products Used:
LVX – ‘Rhone
Zoya – ‘Sooki’
Pipe Dream Polish – ‘Tabanca’
Nail Vinyls – Half Moon Vinyls
Cirque Colors – ‘Carpe Diem’ & Liquid Laminate Topcoat
Aengland – ‘Camelot’

31DC2015 Day 9 Rainbow: Classic Petal Water Marble

Darn my darndid iMovie slowing down my whole computer! Okay granted I have been on it for quite awhile and its getting a little hot hmm maybe I should give it a break? Nah! I need to get this manicure out to you guys I’m sure my computer will understand! I’ll have the video tutorial for this up when my iMovie wants to cooperate with me.

Are there really any words that I need to say to explain how much awesome sauce this manicure posses?! When Pipe Dream Polishes hit the market last year they floored everyone with their fantastical neon hues and impeccable water marbling formulas. Their neon colors have gained so much hype that they’ve become so hard to get! The demand exceed the restocks and it is just insane in the membrane! On a nicer note once you have these in your hands you have a feeling of not only excitement but pure joy. Neons that water marble are like liquid gold in my book.

It was inevitable that I do a rainbow water marble using the Street Carnival collection from Pipe Dream Polish for todays 31 day challenge prompt. Rainbow is after all my favorite color. I could stare at my nails until I went blind I love these so much! The saddest part about this manicure is that I need to take it off to do the next prompt. Wahh I don’t wanna go to school mom! I mean I don’t wanna take these nails off! Wahhh!

Alright enough crying you crazy rainbow lady. Around this time lat year I posted my first YouTube tutorial using Pipe Dream Polishes Night In Vegas collection which has since then skyrocketed in views! So that was another reason I had to use these polishes!

I’ve included a quick nail prep routine as well as a list of products needed to water marble in my latest video tutorial. Check it out below!

These polishes can be hard to get but make sure to check Pipe Dream Polishes site periodically to grab yours!

Mucking Magnificent Milestone GIVEAWAY!

I don’t even know if I have words to express how excited I am right now! This past week not only marked my two year water marbling anniversary but I also hit 50,000 followers on Instagram, 3,000 Likes on Facebook and 5,000 subscribers and 500,000 views on YouTube! In order to celebrate all these magnificent mucking milestones I knew I had to put together an EPIC giveaway to show my appreciation for each and every one of you that have taken the time to support me! You won’t believe all the brands that have contributed to this mucking giveaway, the prizes are INSANE, and there happen to be 11 chances to win! Thats right now one, two or three but ELEVEN PRIZES!

In the past couple of months the indie polish world has been bombarded by the epicness that is Pipe Dream Polishes a Night in Vegas collection created by the lovely April! Not only are these colors bright, bold and beautiful they are some for the best polishes that I ever tried for water marbling and I’ve created some of my favorite designs with them. Rainbow is after all my favorite color!

If you don’t have any ILNP shades in your collection here is your chance to change that! Barbra of ILNP has this knack for creating some of the most unique polishes I have ever gotten to try. From her many holographic colors to the ever-growing line of multi chromes she has done it again with some new colors made up of color-shifting flakes! I personally choose these four shades out of the collection from the 13 colors included as I felt they have the most color change to them

In the past year these easy to use nail vinyls have opened up a whole new world for the nail art community! From chevrons to lighting bolts, their creator Linda, is constantly adding new vinyls to her collection of stickers adding the ability for fast, easy and beautiful nail art to their users. I myself have been able to create some stellar designs with them. This variety pack includes so many different kinds of vinyls to it!

Two years ago I bought a lovely holographic set from my first indie brand, Lacquer Lust. I did a water marble with them, Jo graciously shared my photo and from then on my love for indie brands just kept rising. These holographic shades not only have amazing formulas to them but they work great for water marbling, something I haven’t been able to find with many other lacquers.

Thermal polishes give some of the most amazing gradient effects without having to do any of the work! The Queen of thermals, Katherine of Polished by KPT, has influenced and dominated the thermal market with her chic color combos. Along with her thermals, all the glittery combos she creates are so unique! Swatch credit: Lacquerloon, Pinpoint Polish and Lacquer Style

Glow in the dark polishes will forever have a place in my heart. The first one I got to try many moons ago was the infamous Day Glow created by Victoria of Serum No. 5. Her line of GITD shades are great for business during the day and partying during the night! Along with two GITD polishes this prize includes a shiny metallic holographic one coater shade that really does luxe so good! This prize includes three full size polishes unlike the photo pictured below.

This next prize is an essential one for any and everyone that does their nails. One of my least favorite things to do in the nail care process is file my nails. When I use a glass nail file, that dislike is greatly decreased. They file so much smoother then a regular one and it makes life that much easier. When you are finished up filing you must soak those cuticles in some oil. A easy way to do that is by using a cuticle oil stick which slowly drips out oil onto the attached brush. Great for next to bed or in your purse. Plus this one smells like tea tree, something that I use daily in my bodily health care.

Another essential item for the average nail lover is a great topcoat and one of the bes out there has got to be HK Girl from Jill of Glisten & Glow. This set below contains one of those amazing must have topcoats, one stuck on blu base coat, a cuticle balm, a cuticle oil roller tube stick and a nail file and orange stick.

Last of the polish prizes is this beautiful holiday trio from Missi of Different Dimensions. It just so happens this lovely lady is located super close to me! I still have yet to get to meet her, I must change that. From the colors to the names and the formulas to the themes of the sets she creates, her collections are always so unique! TUTORIAL: Rainbow Water Marbled Lightning Bolts

Provided For Review

What do you do when you break a nail and have to cut the rest, resulting in nubs? Why you do a rainbow water marble of course! Like I’ve said before I can’t get enough of these creams from Pipe Dream Polish’s A Night In Vegas Collection. They just work so amazingly in the water, it makes marbling a breeze. This striped marble design fits perfectly on my new short nails and it makes me forget about my loss. As I walked to class all I could do was stare at my nails as they kept catching my eye.

But why stop there? After wearing this beautiful rainbow on its own for a day I had the idea to use these awesome Lightning Bolt Nail Vinyls over the marble design; something I’ve done before. I tried out some textured polishes but it took away to much from the marble. So I went ahead and used Memento Mori, a perfect one coater black cream from Cirque Colors Back to Basics Collection, which took my design from fab to fabulous! I also used one coat of ‘Carpe Diem’ as my white base which has a flawless application. It just might be my new favorite white.

Using Tillie Polish’s ‘Matte Topcoat‘ I applied another set of vinyls and was able to matte only the black portion leaving the rainbow nice and shiny.

Pipe Dream Polish A Night In Vegas – Rainbow Spiral Water Marble

Provided For Review

With rainbow being my favorite color and all I had a sort of epiphany when I thought to do a rainbow spiral marble design. Pipe Dream Polish’s A Night In Vegas collection was the perfect set to use for this design as the color didn’t blend into one another what so ever!

When dropping the polishes in the water I ended up the pink from this collection ‘On The List’  for my middle, ring and pinky fingers; hence the large portion of pink throughout those nails. I ended with the orange color ‘110 Degress’ on my thumb and then I finally figured out the trick for my pointer. When dragging in the colors from the outer portion I simply dragged it a little faster which got rid of the excess pink in the middle giving me a quite even rainbow spiral design.

Pipe Dream Polish A Night In Vegas – Rainbow Water Marble

Provided For Review

I had a little absence going on there for a bit as my last semester of school started up this past week and I went on a nice camping trip to Georgia for Labor Day!

I am super excited to share with you all this banging manicure below that of which I have been harboring in my photo album for way too long. I received Pipe Dream Polish’s A Night In Vegas collection a few weeks back which consists of several bright neon creams. Not only are these beautiful colors but the formula on them for marbling is impeccable! I used all the colors besides one, Happy Hour, for this side by side classic floral water marble.
