Serum No. 5 – Glowing Easter Nail Art

Provided For Review

Well I couldn’t go without doing a little bit of art with some of the new glow in the dark cremes from Serum No. 5 new spring collection! You may have seen a couple of them already on Instagram but I didn’t share some of the awesome glow pictures that make these shades really stand out among all the spring cremes being released out there this season. Check out my review I did of the whole collection HERE.

This combo of ‘Blue Blazes and ‘Glowin of Eden was perfect for the adult Easter egg hunt I went to last night, sadly I didn’t bring home any TV’s but I had lots of fun rocking these simple nails. I used Nail Vinyl’s for the angled chevrons and then just doted on some Glowin of Eden onto the lovely Blue Blazes.

Can you say super bright awesomeness?! These were the brightest glowing shades from the collection and the colors are just lovely!

In the recent months I have become a huge stamping fan. I don’t have too big of a collection but since I have been so busy lately stamping just makes for such a quick and easy way to have a banging mani. Using ‘Pure Glow Getter‘ as my base I then used MoYou London’s Aztec Plate 01 and Julie G’s Summer Cruise collection which work great for stamping. I matted them a put a little sparkle on using Lacuqer Lust ‘I Like It On Top’.

Here is the glowing goodness of Pure Glow Getter. I almost like the way this mani glows in the dark more then when it doesn’t.

I used the Julie G cremes for this manicure as well with a base of ‘Blue Blazes. This kind of randomly came about as I was wearing Blye Blazes when the Julie G shades arrived and I couldn’t wait to see if they worked for stamping. I used MoYou London Sailor Plate 05 for the stamping design, I totally need more MoYou plates they work so great!

And of course Blue Blazes doesn’t disappoint in the glowing aspect. After coming back inside from being out in the sun for just one or two minutes makes your nails look so amazing and it doesn’t have to even be pitch black!

These shades just released yesterday and are available on at Serum No. 5 shop HERE.

Serum No. 5 Spring Collection 2014 – Cremes and Glitters

Provided For Review

Now that was one long blog absence. I went a whole month without posting on here, can you tell I’ve been busy?! I keep telling myself it will all be over soon but the tests just keep coming and coming. Ahhh I totally needed an evening of blogging to help be stay sane. Thankfuly this post is a super awesome one as it consists of the whole Serum No. 5 spring collection from this year which I am totally in love with. Serum No. 5 specializes in glow in the dark polishes and this set of cremes and glitters takes the cake!

Blue Blazes is a light pastel blue creme that glows bright blue in the dark. This took 3 thin coats for opacity and was probably one of my fav from the bunch. The glowing effect is seriously out of this world. So bright and even with no charge! I was constantly looking at my nails when I had this on.

Laven Daringly Bright is a pastel lavender purple creme that glows purple in the dark. The glow effect on this one was a little more subtle then the others but the color is super pretty. Two coats for full opacity and my photos are without topcoat, super smooth finish right?!

Awesome Blossom is a a bright pastel pink creme that glows pink in the dark. The formula on this one was the best of the bunch, it took two lovely coats for full opacity. I love the name of this one as it reminds me of that LEGO movie theme song, which I play from time to time to cheer me up. For some reason I could’t get this beauty to glow for me, but I have seen some other ladies who have been able too and it looks amazing!

Glowin’ of Eden is a pastel sea foam looking green that glows a bright green in the dark. This was kind of streaky on the first two coats so I ended up using 4 thin coats for my photos. The bright glowing affect totally makes up for the formula on this one which isn’t too bad.

Silver Lining is a grey creme that glows blue in the dark. Two amazing coats, almost one, for this one of kind GITD creme. This dried very fast and has an almost matte finish to it. The glow affect is great for how dark the color is but all my photos were fuzzy. This was the first I swatched and I later figured out how to truly capture the glowing affects nicely.

Lights Out is a black creme with a slight shimmer that has a subtle dark blue glow in the dark. I used two lovely even coats for my photos but wasn’t able to get a good glowing pic as the effect is so subtle.

Pure Glow Getter is a white creme that glows white in the dark. This was for sure another fav from the glowing creme set. Opaque in two coats and the glowing effect on it is great! Check out a glowing pic on my Nail Art post using some of these polishes HERE!

Lilac It? I Love It has silver holo hex and purple micro glitter in a light purple crelly base. I like layering my crelly glitters over another color but this also showed opacity in 3 coats on a swatch sick and didn’t seem too thick. I layered one coat over Laven Daringly Bright which were pretty much made for one another.

Blushed and Flushed has silver holo hex and fuchsia and white micro glitter in a light pink peachy crelly base. I used one thin layer overtop of Tillie Polish ‘Bows and Bandeaus’. Quite a delicate shade, I can totally see myself wearing this to a wedding.

Some Bunny Loves You is a mix of light yellow and red-orange hexes, white and light purple circles and mircoglitter in a clear base. This polish also as a lovely shimmer throughout it’s base which I find always that special touch to a glitter topper. I used one coat overtop of Cult Nails ‘Manipulative’. I think this topper would look nice over a lighter green as well.

G.I. Miss You is a mix of emerald, green, light and dark brown hexes and micro glitter in a clear base that glows green in the dark. I used one coat overtop of Picture Polish ‘Beige’. Even though I’m not too much of a camp girl I loved walking around the house with this combo as the glow effect stood out so nicely!

This collection is totally banging! I love all the cremes and the glitters all applied nicely and the combos are beautiful! Serum No. 5 has seriously impressed me! This collection is releasing today April 18th on Serum No. 5’s website! I would definitely pick up a few of the cremes for yourself if you like glowy awesomeness. Pure glow getter and Blue Blazes are a must!

Review Different Dimensions – Glittery and Glowy shades

Well I have been on quite a roll this week with my blog posts, maybe I should give myself a pat on the back! Been getting a little stressed snice school is right around the corner, but I’m sure when it starts things will be all peachy dory.

Here is a post that is a little overdue, some awesome Different Dimension Glittery lacquers, two of which glow in the dark. I have posted all these on my Instagram in recent weeks but they deserved their own post.

Merry Go Round has a white crelly base which glows blue in the dark! This polish has black, light pink, fuschia, and silver circles small and large. There are also black, light pink and blue squares and microglitters. What a combo! I used one dabbed coat of Merry Go Round overtop of Cult Nails ‘Tempest’.

Just look at this beauty glow! I love the way the big glitters make patches in the glowing effect. I charged my hand under light for just 10 seconds to achieve this glow. If you didn’t see it already check out this video I made on Instagram HERE.

Imitation is the Most Sincere form of Flattery has a clear base that glows teal in the dark. It contains silver holo microglitters with hints of purple. I used one coat overtop of one of my water marbles, what I like to call recycling a manicure, where I used Orly’s ‘Glowstick’ and an unnamed Island Girl pink. Not only do I love the name of this polish but I love the subtle sparkle it gives.

Overtop of my marble it glowed teal over the yellow and a mix of purple and pink overtop of the pink. I just love me a good glow polish. I also only charged this under the light for 10 seconds or so to achieve the awesome glowiness. I also made a quick video on Instagram for this shade. Check it out HERE.

My Highlighter Exploded is a clear base glitter topper filled with large neon pink and green hexes. There are also neon pink, green, blue and yellow medium and small hexes with lots of neon purple mircoglitters all in a matte finish. Here I used one coat over Cult Nails ‘Tempest’ and then added my Julep Matte coat because I love matte glitter, it really helps show all the glitters in a photo.

Here it is with topcoat, neon overlaod! The name goes perfectly with the combo of neons. I did a dry marble using some sally hansen xtreme wear colors, which also work great for water marbling. I do have a tutorial on dry marbling which can be found HERE. My Highlighter Exploded isn’t available as of now in Different Dimensions store but should be restocked soon!
