Although I really haven’t posted in the past couple of days that doesn’t mean I wasn’t hard at work swatching up a storm, cuz I was! Only getting up to eat and go to the bathroom (haha not really) I was able to finish up some lots of holiday polishes that I have to share with you all! Today it is Bsquared Lacquers turn as I have the full Holiday collection consisting of a lovely range of shades.
Whoville is a mix of neon star, hex and circle glitters with multicolored microglitters in a clear base. Shown is one dabbed coat over white with topcoat. First off the name and mix of glitters in this shade made me fall in love. Who doesn’t love some bright colors in the middle of winter? The base was a little tacky but not to hard to apply and the bigger glitters needed a little placement as I was using mini bottles. I think with full size all these shades would apply better!
Iceberg is a vibrant dark blue jelly with holo circle, square, hex and microglitters. I used one coat overtop of Tillie Polish ‘Enchanted’ with topcoat. The bigger circles had to be fished for some but again not too bad. This showed opacity in 3 coats on a swatch stick but I just like using jellies over another color.
Midnight is a mix of gold and silver circle, star, hex and square glitters in a black jelly base. It also has gold holo dust throughout which gives it a nice touch. I used one coat over black with topcoat. I found the circles and stars got a little lost in this one but one on the nail looked fab. A very appropriate shade for the New Year.
Holoberries is a cranberry holo in between linear and scattered. The reason why I say this is because the linear effect of the shade is kind of subtle but still there. My favorite of the collection, Holoberries took two thin coats for full opacity. Shown with topcoat under my OttLite blub (which I realized the other day is what I’ve been using and so happens to be one of the better lights to take photos with yay!) and then under an LED light which really shows the linear aspect of this beaut.
Radioactive Snow is a shimmery flakey effect topcoat that glows in the dark. First I used one coat overtop of LVX ‘Celeste’ as I wanted to show how much this thing glows. But I suppose I forgot that all my GITD pics come out blurry but for reals this topper makes light colors glow super bright light blue (see my little blurry pic). Over this shade it almost looks like yellow snow, HA!
And now to show what Radioactive Snow can really do to a nice dark shade. Here I layered it over black to show it in all its glory. Quite awesome right?! This shade over black was a definite favorite of the bunch.
Glitzy has gold and silver holo circle, star, hex, square and microglitters in a clear base. I used one coat overtop of LVX ‘Modena’ and Rescue Beauty ‘Become One’. This reminds me very much of Midnight but without the black jelly base. Had to fish for the larger glitters but when on the brush they weren’t too tough to apply to the nail. Great sparkly gold topper for the holiday season.
White Lights is a mix of small gold circle, hex, square and microglitter in a white crelly base. I used three coats for full opacity. This was kind of patchy on application and might of looked nicer over a white shade. Smoothed it out with topcoat for a shiny finish.
Ho Cubed is a mix of small green, red and yellow circle, square and microglitters in a white crelly base. Learning from the last shade, I layered this one over white for a much smoother finish. The glitters in this one were a little sparse but this may have been due to me using minis as I mentioned before.
Heres a roundup of all the shades. I would say my top picks are Holoberries, Radioactive Snow and Whoville. Do you all have any favorites?
Let me say again I was using mini bottles so I feel that full size ones would apply much better for some of these shades.
More Holiday shades to come!
