Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure shades

Provided For Review

If you’ve been around for awhile you may recall seeing some nail mail I got from Sally Hansen consisting of eight complete salon manicure shades which I have for you today. I couldn’t get these shades to water marble like the xtreme hardwear ones but I did find a liking to a few of them. Most of these colors are perfect for the fall months and the brushes if you didn’t already know are quite thick making for quick application.

Trouble Maker is a dark purple plum cream. Two coats with topcoat shown below. Accented it with a water marble using Lacquer Lusts Amethyst and Sapphire.

image

Kook a Mango is a reddish coral cream that also showed opacity in two coats. Felt this color was perfect to try out some dried flowers I got from Born Pretty store. I feel a flower inspired marble in the future.

image

Golden Rule is a gold microglitter topper. I used it overtop of Precision Nail Lacquer’s ‘Love you Long Time’. The application was a little sparse on this one as the brush is so large. Paired it up with some lepoard print which I always forget to add the extra black dots to. Probably should start adding some other type of art to my marbles if I can’t even get lepoard print right :D

image

Black and Blue is a layering duochrome that shifts from teal to dark purple. I used it over Aengland’s ‘Camelot’ to show the transition. The teal is more prevalent then the purple at most times. Studded it up with some hexagonal studs.

image

Blue My Mind is a dark kind of bright blue with a shimmery cream base. This was probably my top of this group as it was quite a perfect blue. Here it is shown next to some of the blooming mums in my yard. The contrasting colors was just too perfect.

image

Please Sea Me is an ocean blue cream that showed opacity in two coats. Hard for me to capture the trueness of any blue color so I would say this one is a little brighter then shown.

image

Jungle Gem is a dark teal blue cream that also showed opacity in two coats. My photo is nowhere near color accurate but as you can see it is a pretty dark color

image

Lastly is Mermaids Tale. This is filled up with teal and blue hexes and blue microglitters all in a blue jelly base. I layered one coat overtop of Jungle Gem.

image

The creams from this line apply quite nice I will always be a die hard xtreme wear fan but I can see myself slapping on Blue My Mind or Trouble Maker for a quick evening mani.

These shades can be found at your local walgreens or Target and all the colors can be viewed HERE.

Sally Hansen- Textured Polishes Sugar and Fuzzy Coat Review

Provided For Review

Well it’s about time I got some Sally Hansen’s up on here! Shame on me for taking so long to post about some of the goodies they sent me awhile back. Lets just say this is a long overdue post. FYI this was before I had my major nail trimmage.

Today I have some textured polishes, three sugar and three fuzzy coats, from Sally Hansen.

image

Royal Icing, on my outer nails, is a light blue textured polish with purple shimmer. I used two coats overtop of Breezy Blue with no topcoat. Because it was kind of on the thin side an undie was needed for Royal Icing but it didn’t take away from the color or effect of the polish. Since it was thin it did apply very nicely. This was probably my favorite of the sugar coat’s that I tried out, it reminded me of Cinderella and that purple shimmer really made it stand out.

image

Wool Knot, on my inner nails, has loads of light blue and white bar glitters in a clear base. I used two coats overtop of White On which I know realize was probably not the best undie. Alas the elegance of the combination just worked for me.

image

Pink Sprinkle, on my outer nails, is a pinkish red textured polish with some red shimmer to it. I used three coats with no topcoat  for full opacity and also used it as my undie for All Yarned Up, which has bar glitter in yellow, orange, and blue in a clear base. I think layering the fuzzy coat over the sugar coat was a great idea, double texture? YES please!

Laughie Taffy, on my outer nails, is a dark blue textured polish and almost looks cream like in the bottle. I used two nice coats with no topcoat. This had the most textured effect to it out of the three sugar coats. Very rough like a textured polish should be.

image

Tweedy, on my inner nails, has black and white bar glitters in a clear base. This one was a little thicker then the other two fuzzy coats but I still used two coats of it using Aenglands Camelot as my undie.

Here’s another looks at the sugar coats but on their own. Royal Icing on the outside nails and Pink Sprinkle on the inside ones.

The textured polish craze has defiantly spiked in the past months form Zoya’s new pixie dust line to the many new OPI textured polishes. Personally I am more of a cream and glitter girl so these polishes didn’t swoop me off my feet. They could be utilized in many ways for different types of nail art such as Sarah from Chalkboardnails and Victoria from the Manicurator did in these posts. Probably my favorite used of textured polishes out there.

Most of these polishes can be found at your local drugstore, walmart, or target.

Save the Bess Bestie Twin Mani

Did you guys catch the below photo last night on Instagram? Awhile back now I sent Jessie (IG: @nailsofjessiek) one of Hexnail Jewlery’s charms as well as Sally Hansen’s Yellow Mellow and Black Out. I didn’t give Jessie much choice and made her do some bestie twin nails with me. These manicures are for Saving the Bees!

You may of heard about how the Bee population in the world is slowly dwindling. Some say it is due to the increased usage of pesticides which affect the incests immune system. Some bees are just disappearing from their colonies giving it the term “Colony collapse disorder.” Honey Bee’s in particular are essential for pollinating large crop field’s and without them we could lose the lovely variety of vegetables and fruits that we have in our super markets. Bee keepers around the country transport large amounts of bee colonies just so those particular plants can be pollinated.

Bees are just too cute, when they aren’t stinging you, so why not do a save the bees mani?! A little while ago Celina (IG: @celinas_treasures) did a manicure with a polish line from Norway that is creating polish especially for saving the bees. I suggested we start the tag #savethebeesmani on Instagram to try and raise awareness about this worldwide occurrence.

Let’s make sure our crops aren’t harmed any longer from this. If you’d like to you can sign this ongoing petition at change.org HERE to ban certain chemicals from being sprayed on our crops, something France did back in 1998, lets get with the program! I’m not going to sit here and lecture or push my beliefs so if you would like more information check out this 60 minutes video HERE back from 2009.

We used Colette’s tutorial from Simplelittlepleasures on youtube, she is really the watermarbling goddess, check her out if you want to try this water marbling design!
