LVX – Wintery Water Marble

It always makes me feel fulfilled to do a full water marbled manicure! I test out combos and then sometimes leave them for a later time and this one has been staring me down for quite awhile. With the insanely freezing temperatures it only seemed appropriate to do a nice wintery design. LVX creams are superb for marbling and I am so happy these colors didn’t blend.

I used Cerulean’, ‘Celeste’ and ‘Fantom’ for the marble and then topped it off with Nail Pattern Boldness ‘Alpha Nail’ which was a pretty essential addition to this design. It added quite the perfect sparkle as it shifts from blue to purple, really makes you go oooo and ahhhh.

This photo show’s Alpha Nail’s effect a little nicer. Don’t they look like icsicles?! Maybe it’s just me but I am totally feeling this wintery mix of colors.

I hope to be able to bring you all at least 1-2 blog posts a week as school is picking up but I really want to keep up with my nails as well. I almost have 200 bloglovin followers which is just awesome so I hope to put a giveaway together for you all real soon! Alsoooo I just got a camcorder in the mail yesterday so I am going to attempt to make some video tutorials. Yes you heard right, TUTORIALS! I am pretty excited about that.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Lumina Lacquer Mixed Tape Collection Part Two

As promised from yesterday I have some more Lumina Lacquer Shades from the new Mixed Tape Collection and I also have two new St. Pattys Day shades to share with you all tonight!

The first three shades are shown with topcoat and with a matte coat as they all have matte glitters.

No Ordinary Love is a mix of matte red heart, flower, circle, star, square and mircroglitters as well as some orange and light pink circles and hexes in a clear base.  I used one dabbed coat overtop of OPI ‘My Vampire Is Buff’. The orange glitters I feel add a little pop to this shade as Tatiana could have stopped at the red. Just another fact that shows Luminas great ability to create amazing combos.

Take My Breath Away is a mix of matte gray, light blue and light aqua heart, star, butterfly, flower, hex, circle, square and microglitter in a clear base. One dabbed coat with no fish as always with Polish My Life ‘Saint’ as my base. Yes, yes I used a gray base and there are gray glitters but when I tried it out on my swatch stick I instantly fell in love. Lovely shade for the winter time as it’s so nice and soft, very snow like over this gray base.

Dream Lover is a mix of matte neon pink heart,  circle, hex, square and micro glitters as well as holo hex microglitter in a clear base. The thing that makes this one stand out between the other two above is that it has tons of iridescent blue flakies hence me layering it over black. This was probably my favorite from the new collection mainly because of the effect those flakes gave off. Plus who doesn’t love neon pink?!

The Dear Little Shamrock has a mix of matte forest green clover, star, square and circle glitters, holo gold and silver circle, hex and microglitters all in a clear base. can’t enough of all the different shape glitters out today! Used one dabbed coat over Zoya ‘Goldie’ as and added an accent marbled clover using Julep ‘Leah’ and ‘Hoch’ (tutorial for this design found HERE) and the gold glitters are from Cult Nails ‘Walk Of Shame’.

Luck O’ The Irish holo green clover and circle glitter, holo gold and silver circle and hex glitter, matte green hex, circle and square glitter and matte dark green circle and hex glitters with lots of microglitters in all these colors in a clear base. I always try my best to describe the glitters in Luminas but there can just be so many! I used Julep ‘Korin’ (given to me by my girl Jessie) as the base for one dabbed coat of this festive shade.

Not pictured from the Mixed Tape Collection Love Rollercoaster, To Love You More and Careless Whisperer.

These will be releasing from Lumina Lacquers site HERE this Monday the 20th at 11:00am PST. Check out Lumina Lacquers FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM pages for new colors, restocks and giveaways!

Lumina Lacquer Mixed Tape Collection Part One

Provided For Review

Always excited to share some Lumina Lacquers with you and today I have the new Mixed Tape Collection, Part one, for your viewing pleasure. All these Valentine shades are named after amazing songs so that helps add to them for me.

Nothing Compares 2 U has gold and cranberry holographic circles and hexes in various sizes as well as golden hearts in a clear base. This mix of cranberry and gold is quite a good match. I used one dabbed coat with no fishing overtop of OPI ‘Mermaid Tears’.

Wonderwall has black, dark and light blue heart, circle and hex glitters as well lots of microglitters in a clear base. I decided to showcase this overtop an ombre using Zoya ‘Edie’, ‘Breezi’, ‘Robyn’ and ‘Rocky’. No trouble getting all the large glitters out as usual and the mix of blue and black reminds me of Lumina Lacquers 1000 Julys which is one of my favs to date. I’ll have to wear it again and see if this one takes the cake.

Let Me Love You Down is a mix of purple, lavender and red matte and metallic star, heart, circle and hex glitters as well as purple and lavender squares and microglitters in a clear base. I used one dabbed coat with a little maneuvering overtop over Zoya ‘Goldie’.

We Found Love is a mix of purple, silver and black heart, circle, star, moon and hex glitters, gray hex and circle glitters and lots of tiny microglitters in a clear base. The colors and holo glitters are quite to my liking as I am a sucker for purple. Used OPI ‘You’re Such a Budapest’ and then Zoya ‘Darcy’ on my ring as undies for this beauty.

Clear Eyes, Full Hearts is a scattered cobalt blue holo with a cream like finish. The first coat of this was a little thick but on the rest of the nails it evened out pretty nicely on application. It might of just been because I had too much polish on my brush for that first nail. Used only one coat and no topcoat for my photo below which is quite impressive. Lumina’s holos have this amazing formula and they work great for marbling so I used this and Forever Thine, Forever Mine (pictured below) for a subtle accent nail.

Forever Thine, Forever Mine is a scattered ocean blue holo with blue micro glitter and had a that same cream like finish. Left the accent marble on using this and Clear Eyes, Full Hearts then applied one smooth perfect coat with no topcoat for my photos. Lumina’s holos are perfect, enough said on that matter.

Enjoy these closeups of Wonderwall, Love Me Love You Down, Nothing Compares 2 U and We Found Love.

These will be releasing from Lumina Lacquers site HERE this Monday the 20th at 11:00am PST. Check out Lumina Lacquers FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM pages for new colors, restocks and giveaways!

Part two of this collection coming tomorrow!

Laquerlicious Limited V-Day = D-Day Review

Provided For Review

Okay okay now that it is the weekend and it just so happens to be a four day one for me (thank you MLK) I’m feeling much better about school and this whole semester! This weekend I have some valentines day shades to share with you all and to start it off we have the always incredible Laquerlicious. This month Michelle has created a Polish for Pit Bulls with an anti-valentines day theme where half of the proceeds will be going to the Fresno Bully Rescue in California. Laquerlicious has done this before and I feel it is a great way to raise awareness and money for a cause that is near and dear to them.

V-Day = D-day is a limited edition glitter bomb filled with so many types of glitter it would take me so long to list them all. Let’s just say there are hearts, skulls, stars, squares, bars, circles and hexes in many colors and sizes filled up in a clear base with lots of  microglitter and pink shimmer. Here I used one dabbed coat with no fishing overtop of Julep ‘Denver’ and paired it with an accent marble using ‘Denver’ and ‘Evelyn‘; two colors I’ve been dyeing to use for a while. All the colors in this glittery pretty stand out great over this minty shade.

You can find this shade at Laquerlicious’s store for just $6.00 HERE, quite a steal for how complex and eye-catching this beauty is. That also means that $3.00 goes to those Pit Bulls out in California! Check out Laquerlicious on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM for new shades, sales and giveaways!

Fat Lacquers Creatures in the Club Collection Review

Provided for Review

School is going hard and I’m already feeling STRESSED. Gotta breath and tell myself I can do it, I can do it!

Today on the mucking blog I have Fat Lacquers Creatures in the Club collection. This is a new to me indie brand run by a lovely lady by the name of Felicia. I quite like the uniqueness of these shades and her brand in general.

Dwarves in the Lou is a shimmery mustrud yellow with a jelly like finish. The shimmers which I couldn’t really capture come from the small blue and gold flakes throughout the base. I used four semi thin coats for my photo as I found there to still be a VNL with only three. I didn’t have to do any clean up though as I found the application of these four coats to be quite nice and even. Kind of realizing that mustard yellow isn’t really my color as it just drowns away in my skin tone. Love the name of this shade though and the shimmers help it redeem itself for its colors

3 Heads Get More Done is a tan brown linear holo. I used two semi thin coats for my manicure . Who doesn’t love a good brown tan holo?! The only thing about this shade was that I found some little bits of brown pigment that had not be dissolved all the way. I have contacted Fat Lacquers and they have already fixed this problem as they had a bad batch of pigment and will be sending me replacements for all the problematic shoes. This was pretty unnoticeable anyway and the strong holo makes it all the better.

Goblin Snot is a  green scattered holo with a crelly finish. I used two semi thick coats which had a nice smooth finish without topcoat. The first stroke I used of this color showed up full of pigment but the next strokes did not and I was able to cover the pigmented one up. All in all a nice green that lives up to its name.

Fairy Booze is a shimmery purple jelly with blue and red flakes. It is much more purple looking then what my photos show. I used three thin coats for full opacity but I also feel that this color could be layered over another shade of purple or even black for a nice finish too. This was my pick of the litter in the end as it was the most unique for me, I love me some purple and the name just killed me.  No topcoat for my  photos so as you can see its a nice a smooth shade.

Alicorn farts has glitters ranging from orange, gray and fuchsia circles, neon yellow and green hexes, yellow stars, blue and white squares and gold skulls all in a clear base. For this glitter topper I really had had to dab it on for the base to glitter ratio was not right for me. I even turned over the bottle for two hours before application and still had to fish for many of the glitters that I got on my nails. The mix of glitters is quite lovely I just feel that it needs more (especially those gold skulls ) and it could be a banging topper. I really love the various colors over Fairy Booze.

Kraken Likes It Rough is a forest green crelly with pink shimmer. I used two highly pigmented coats for my manicure and not very much cleanup was needed. The pink shimmer in this shade really saves it from being a simple green crelly and I really like that. This was my 2nd favorite for pink and green go together so nicely and it applied quite smoothly.

Troll Hair… Down There is a light bubblegum pink jelly with light green shimmer. I used three semi thin coats with topcoat for my manicure. Again I found a problem with some undissolved pigment spots but as I said before Fat Lacquers has fixed this issue and will be sending me a new bottle. The shimmer didn’t come through as much on this one but still made it nice and shiny.

Love Juice Au Merman is a flakey iridescent topper with green and gold flakes. I used one coat overtop of black. Very shifty and pretty!

The brushes were great for applying these shades as it is very flat and wide and I love the bottles as they have these little nutrition facts with the name of the shade on the back, very unique! And as I mentioned before Fat Lacquers is going to be sending me some replacements for the shades with the pigment problems which shows great dedication of quality for their product. I think this was Fat Lacquers second collection as they are fairly new in the indie world. That being said I loved the lineup and finish of some of these shades!

You can find all these shades from the Creatures in the Club collection  at Fat Lacquers site HERE. Also check them out on Instagram.

Double Accented First Day of School Nails

It was nice while it lasted but now it is time for this mucking lady to get back to her studies! I’ll be taking Evolution, Animal Physiology, Human Anatomy and Organic Chemistry II this semester and I gotta say I am pretty excited about those first three, as I hate Chemistry. I wasn’t planning on these being my first day of school nails but with all the assigned reading I already have these will have to do.

As you can see I am pretty obsessed with these Nail Vinyl appliqués as they make it so easy to get a clean chevron look. Using three thin coats of Precision Nail Lacquer Flamingo Pink as my base I then water marbled and chevroned it up with Polish My Life Holly My Jolly. If you didn’t already know I need all the cremes from Polish My Life as they have an impeccable formula! The photo below is shown without topcoat as I wanted to spruce it up some.

I went ahead and added some of Serum No. 5 As a Matte a Fact on my middle fingers, great idea. Then for some reason I thought that matted gold flakes using Zoya Gilty would look banging over the marble. Now looking at it I’m thinking if I had just matted the marble it would have come out more to my liking. Funny story I was all done with this manicure and had just put the matte coat on then I went ahead and touched my pointer with my finger cuz I was all like ooohh ahhh gold flakes and forgot I had just put topcoat on as it looks all dry when its matte! Hence the new marble on my pointer. But hey I its not the worst combo I’ve done so I wanted to share both looks.

Which look do you all like more? I really am digging these two colors together!

You can find Precision Nail Lacquers HERE where they offer a variety of low priced high quality lacquers.

Also check out Serum No. 5 HERE for many more amazing shades!
