First Day of Winter Water Marble

I have shared over 20 different shades with you all this week (check them out if you missed any!) and now it is time to let the mucking Holiday Nail art begin up in this piece! About to put on my Red shirt and do the Ron just had sex dance…

anigif_enhanced-buzz-18394-1367704906-2

I am rolling right along as I’ve already gone through some trial and errors with my swatch sticks and now know exactly which designs I want to share with you before the actual big day. It has been raining here non stop for the past couple of days, I wish it was snow, so it has been quite gloomy. But that didn’t stop me from doing a nice festive manicure for the first day of winter!

image

I was inspired by  @banicured_ a quite creative artist on Instagram who I stumbled upon a little while ago. She did some snowy water marbled tips which is such a genius plan, I knew right away that I had to recreate this look. Having lots of leftover loose snowflake glitter from the polishes Lumina Lacquer sent me it was only meant to be that I used these for this manicure. Recently got a big order of LVX polishes from a Hautelook sale two of which were ‘Fantom’ and ‘Celeste’. They were quite perfect colors and formulas for this design. The above and below photos are without topcoat so thats why the snowflakes look a little raised off the nail.

image

Here it is with 3 coats of Glisten & Glow ‘HKgirl’ topcoat as I really wanted to smooth out those glitters! This design has got to be a new favorite of mine as it utilizes the marble in such a different way. I’ve done a french tipped marble before but nothing so artistic as this!

image

Now to keep watching Christmas movies and backing sweet treats! Man being off school feels great and I am just loving this Holiday season! Happy First Day of Winter to you all!

Lumina Lacquer More Holiday 2013 Shades

Provided For Review

Had a nice Holiday evening last night with Spencer (my boyfriend, best friend and roommate for the past 4 years). He took me out for lunch and we did some downtown shopping. Got a few last minute gifts, well really all the gifts and then listened to Christmas music and played a few games back home. Just an all around nice day, what a great time of year! So for my last holiday swatches I am very excited to share with you some great new Lumina Lacquer glitterbombs all which have some very different shapes of glitter to them. Lets start with my favorite, probably because it is the most colorful!

Lights, Christmas, Action has an abundant mix of multicolored large and small holo circle glitters in a clear base. This polish also has holo christmas tree glitters! Now I am sure your first thought is how the heck do you get those out of the bottle?! Well with Luminas it is usually all to easy to apply these larger glitters as the base is quite perfect; these really weren’t all to hard to get out. For my pointer I used a tree from inside the bottle and for the rest i used some extra loose tree glitter which you get when purchasing this shade. I just absolutely love love love this one! I layered it over black  which I think is the perfect combo as there are just so many colors and the silver dust mimics those glistening lights.

image

image

Had to add in an extra photo, I mean its christmas tree glitter people!

image

All Tied Up  is a mix of white, pink, fuchsia and  silver hex and circle glitters in a clear base. There are also white, pink and fuchsia bow glitters! After some shaking and a little bit of fishing for the bows I added it over top of Polish My Life’s ‘Raspberry Roses’ and ‘My Violet‘ (some of the most amazing cream formula’s I’ve tried) and Tiliie Polish’s ‘Tillie’ which is what the marble is done with. How girly and cute is this shade?! All these new shaped glitters on the market are so awesome and I love Lumina Lacquer’s use of them.

image

image

The Snow Queen has holo silver and blue star, circle, hex, square and microglitters in a clear base. This beauty also has holo snowmen and snowflake glitters!  I decided to layer this one over top of Tillie Polishes ‘Tillie’. When using this shade if I got a snowflake or man on my brush I would just use those but if not then I would dab my brush on an extra loose glitter which is also provided with any bottle. I don’t mind this and think it isn’t a hassle at all to have crazy shaped glitters on my nails. If I don’t have a marble on my nails then I usually have some kind of glitter, or a holo I can never get enough holo.

image

image

The Snow King (I know now you’ll need both! She also has The Snow Prince & Princess, it’s like a whole little family) is a mix of light/dark purple, silver and gold circle, hex and microglitter as well as holo silver star, heart, snowmen and snowflake glitters all in a clear base. I applied this one the same as I did The Snow Queen, grabbing the loose glitters when needed. Decided to layer it over Square Hue ‘Flower Power’, Cult Nails ‘Faded’, Rescue Beauty ‘Mismas’ and LVX ‘Modena’  as I felt gold and purple look pretty nice over all these colors and a King deserves to be showcased in the nicest manner.

image

image

As mentioned before extra loose glitters are supplied for polishes with those larger odd shaped glitters and really no problems on application. All these manicures were smoothed out with 1-2 coats of Glisten & Glow ‘HKgirl’ Topcoat which is still my go to topcoat these days.

These are only a few of the holiday polishes Lumina Lacquer has created for this year and they will be restocking after Christmas again so you still have a chance to grab these unique glitterbombs some are even available now in her store HERE. Also check out Lumina Lacquer on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM for new colors, restocks and giveaways!

Now that I am done with swatching all the Holiday shades I had to share with you all I am hard at work creating some Holiday looks before the actual day comes! Not sure if I’ll have any tutorials but there still will be some cool designs I have planned.

Tillie Polish – Tillie, Snow Bunny & Enchanted Review

Provided For Review

I know I know I may be bombarding you all with these winter shades but I think you all will find these colors very much to your liking! Next up in this slew of Wintery shades are the ladies from Tillie Polish. Today I have three of the five new colors form their new Wonderland Collection and they are probably my favorite so, YAY! I always am so happy when the ladies ask me to share some of their shades with you all I really love using them.

Tillie is a tiffany blue cream with hints of silver shimmer through out. This showed opacity in two thin coats and was smooth enough not to apply topcoat for my photos. I really love this minty almost green cream and it fits perfectly with the rest of my Tillie polishes.

image

image

Snow Bunny has loads of tiny silver microglitters in a shimmery thin white crelly base. I would say this is mainly meant to be used over top another shade but I decided to use it on it own as it showed full opacity in three thin coats. The only downfall on this one was getting all the tiny glitters off my cuticles. But after a few close looks it really wasn’t too pesky. Much more sparkly then my photos show. I don’t think I have anything else like this shade in my collection its quite unique.

image

image

Enchanted is a royal blue cream. This only needed one coat on application and I didn’t apply topcoat for my photos, very smooth. If only all the creams I owned were as great as this one! Amazing application, lovely color, great cleanup and it marbles pretty nicely as well. Lately I keep finding myself grabbing this shade whenever I’m in need of a blue color. You may recognize it from one of my marbles for Hanukkah. Just an all around awesome polish.

image

image

To entice you even more in getting some Tillie Polish the ladies have provided me with a coupoun code for 15% OFF! Valid unitl 12/31/13 the code MUCKING15 will get you this 15% off in their store HERE! Also check them out on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM for new colors and giveaways!

Bsquared Lacquer Holiday 2013 Collection Review

Provided For Review

Although I really haven’t posted in the past couple of days that doesn’t mean I wasn’t hard at work swatching up a storm, cuz I was! Only getting up to eat and go to the bathroom (haha not really) I was able to finish up some lots of holiday polishes that I have to share with you all! Today it is Bsquared Lacquers turn as I have the full Holiday collection consisting of a lovely range of shades.

Whoville is a mix of neon star, hex and circle glitters with multicolored microglitters in a clear base. Shown is one dabbed coat over white with topcoat. First off the name and mix of glitters in this shade made me fall in love. Who doesn’t love some bright colors in the middle of winter? The base was a little tacky but not to hard to apply and the bigger glitters needed a little placement as I was using mini bottles. I think with full size all these shades would apply better!

image

Iceberg is a vibrant dark blue jelly with holo circle, square, hex and microglitters. I used one coat overtop of Tillie Polish ‘Enchanted’ with topcoat. The bigger circles had to be fished for some but again not too bad. This showed opacity in 3 coats on a swatch stick but I just like using jellies over another color.

image

Midnight is a mix of gold and silver circle, star, hex and square glitters in a black jelly base. It also has gold holo dust throughout which gives it a nice touch. I used one coat over black with topcoat. I found the circles and stars got a little lost in this one but one on the nail looked fab. A very appropriate shade for the New Year.

image

Holoberries is a cranberry holo in between linear and scattered. The reason why I say this is because the linear effect of the shade is kind of subtle but still there. My favorite of the collection, Holoberries took two thin coats for full opacity. Shown with topcoat under my OttLite blub (which I realized the other day is what I’ve been using and so happens to be one of the better lights to take photos with yay!) and then under an LED light which really shows the linear aspect of this beaut.

image

image

Radioactive Snow is a shimmery flakey effect topcoat that glows in the dark. First I used one coat overtop of LVX ‘Celeste’ as I wanted to show how much this thing glows. But I suppose I forgot that all my GITD pics come out blurry but for reals this topper makes light colors glow super bright light blue (see my little blurry pic). Over this shade it almost looks like yellow snow, HA!

image

And now to show what Radioactive Snow can really do to a nice dark shade. Here I layered it over black to show it in all its glory. Quite awesome right?!  This shade over black was a definite favorite of the bunch.

image

Glitzy has gold and silver holo circle, star, hex, square and microglitters in a clear base. I used one coat overtop of LVX ‘Modena’ and Rescue Beauty ‘Become One’. This reminds me very much of Midnight but without the black jelly base. Had to fish for the larger glitters but when on the brush they weren’t too tough to apply to the nail. Great sparkly gold topper for the holiday season.

image

White Lights is a mix of small gold circle, hex, square and microglitter in a white crelly base. I used three coats for full opacity. This was kind of patchy on application and might of looked nicer over a white shade. Smoothed it out with topcoat for a shiny finish.

image

Ho Cubed is a mix of small green, red and yellow circle, square and microglitters in a white crelly base. Learning from the last shade, I layered this one over white for a much smoother finish. The glitters in this one were a little sparse but this may have been due to me using minis as I mentioned before.

image

Heres a roundup of all the shades. I would say my top picks are Holoberries, Radioactive Snow and Whoville. Do you all have any favorites?

rsz_image54

Let me say again I was using mini bottles so I feel that full size ones would apply much better for some of these shades.

As of right now the whole collection can be found on Bsquared Lacquer’s site HERE. Check out her FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM for updates on restocks and new colors!

More Holiday shades to come!

Serum No. 5 Holiday 2013 Collection Review

Provided For Review

Well it’s official folks! I am done with this semester and oh man does it feel amazing! If you didn’t already know I am going for my Bachelors degree in Science with a premed concentration so school can be pretty tiring at times. Now I get to sit inside all weekend and do whatever I like which mostly consists of doing my nails and watching Netflix. YAY! That feels so good to type! It’s been snowing all day and I am just loving it. Okay enough good feelings lest get to bussiness.

Today I have a wonderful Holiday collection from Victroia of Serum No. 5 along with some nail art here and there. Heres a roundup of all the lovely colors. This post is quite full of photos so be warned!

rsz_corynn_nails

Friendly Tiffs is a light  blue cream with blue speckles throughout. The blue speckles shimmer oh so suddlely and the cream base was quite perfect when applying the two coats I used for my manicure below without topcoat I may add.

image

Recently got some chevron nail cut outs from Nail Vinyls as I have had no success with scissors and wow did they work ever do good.  I feel like a pro! I used another Serum No. 5 shade from this collection Luxe So Good which paired perfectly with this lovely light cream.

image

image

Girls Gotta Eat has gold and silver glitter in medium and small hexes with golden shimmer in a clear base. Here I used two coats over top of Rescue Beauty ‘Mismas’ as I find purple and gold to be a great combo. This is a nice mix of golden shimmer that would look amazing over any color.

image

image

Girl’s BFF has silver medium and small hex glitter with silver shimmer in a clear base. Some of the silver glitters in this beaut are holographic and that always melts my heart. I used two coats over top of Tillie Polishes ‘Enchanted’ with topcoat. In the spirit of winter I added some holo snowflake glitters.

image

The snowflakes are from Tatiana of Lumina Lacquer which come with her current holiday polishes that have snowflakes in them. Just check out the colors these snowflakes give off, WOW!

image

Luxe So Good is a linear silver holographic shade. This is the cream of the crop when it comes to holos. One coat with a strong holographic finish even with topcoat. Thankfully we had a sunny day so I was able to sort of capture the effect this polish gives off.

image

Went ahead a did a little festive water marble over top of Luxe So Good using Square Hue’s Fifth Avenue and OPI’s Nail Envy. Can you say candy cane from holo land?! OH YES!

image

And then I added some green dots using OPI Green-wich Village. Not sure which I like bette, help me decide!

image

Final Countdown is a black jelly with multicolored microglitter as well as small silver hex glitter. This showed opacity in three coats but I layered it over black and added topcoat. This polish also GLOWS blue but unfortunately I could not for the life of me get a good photo, but do know that it glows!

image

image

Gild Free has gold circle, hex and microglitter in a crelly like white base. I used three thin coats for opacity and added topcoat. This wasn’t too thick after three layers and dried pretty nicely. Very elegant and not only great for the holidays but also also nice for any formal gathering.

image

image

Snow In Love is a white crelly with light and dark blue hex, circle and microglitter. Two coats with no topcoat for the photo below, so smooth for a crelly. I love the name and finish of this shade and it GLOW a bright blue in the dark! See that little photo in the corner (you don’t want to see the full size its way too blurry) that is this beaut glowing nice and bright. GITD polishes are just so magical and this one does not disappoint.

image

Added some stamped snowflakes using Winstonia plate W120 and Polish My Life’s ‘My Violet’. Also added some tiny golden snowflakes that Serum No. 5 has in their shop! Very cute for the winter time. I contemplated posting this but I have had worse stamping experiences and I feel like I am progressing and want to share that with you all.

image

Holly Dazed is a mix of red, green and gold micro and hex glitters in a clear base. Can’t get much Christmasier then this glitter topper over a nice white shade. Accented it with a water marble using LaCC ‘1945’ and Rescue Beauty ‘Become One’.  Loving the classic look of this manicure for the Holidays.

image

image

This is a great Holiday collection as each is unique in its own way and all apply and look amazing! Serum No. 5 is currently having a great sale on mini shades including most of these so grab yours before the holidays at their shop HERE. Also check out Serum No. 5 on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM!

I had so much fun swatching these Holiday shades and I have much more to come! <3 Thanks for reading!

Tillie Polish Last Night of Hanukkah Water Marble

Provided For Review

Born to a jewish mother, technically all jewish, and a baptist father I am lucky enough to be able to celebrate not only Christmas but also Hanukkah during this time of year! This year Hanukkah came super early and even fell on Thanksgiving, something that won’t happen for another 79,000 years they say. Last night was the eighth night marking the last night of this years Hanukkah celebrations. I took a break from studying for finals, which happen to be next week, and did my nails to celebrate one last time.

image

Last week I received a few new colors from Tillie Polishes Wonderland collection one of which was this amazing rich blue creme Enchanted. Before the girls even sent it to me I knew what I wanted to do with it and that was pair it alongside Golden Goddessone of my favorite Tillie colors. I used Golden Goddess as my base and then used OPI Nail Envy and Enchanted to marble overtop of it as these two dissimilar finishes would not work well in the water. The spaces were sort of large so I did something I personally have never done to a water marble but have seen many times. Adding the silver dots, using Aengland Excalibur, not only set off these large spaces but really helped bring both colors together in the Hanukkah spirit.

image

Here is the design without the dots and before Glisten & Glow HKgirl topcoat. This new vibrant shade of Blue is quite the eye catcher and is the perfect addition to my Tillie collection. I can see some wintery designs with this color in the near future!

image

All Tillie shades are 5-free and can be found at their STORE. Check them out on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM for new colors, sales and giveways!

Use the code MUCKING15 in Tillie Polishes store to get 15% off your order till 12/31/13!

I’ll have a couple other colors to show you all after I am done with finals! In the meantime you can also check out this other Hanukkah manicure if you missed it on Nail It! Magazines website with a HUGE tutorial!
