ILNP Washing Ashore

Provided For Review

Alright everyone, oober qucike on a new duochrome shade from I Love Nail Polish (ILNP)! Washing Ashore is polish fit for the finest of mermaids. Its so full of the sea and mysticalness in my eyes! Always hard to capture these shades on my iPhone  but I was able to catch that transition from dark blue to a lovely teal color that Washing Ashore consists of. Used two perfect coats of Washing Ashore on its own.

Witches Leggings Halloween Water Marble w/ tutorial

A Waterfall water marble is what I have come up with and is what you have before you this very evening. The reason why I am calling this design a waterfall one is because the way the colors were placed on my nails reminded me of the ripples in water. *After posting this design I had someone mention that it looked similar to witches leggings which I have to say is so on point. I don’t really like the term waterfall marble now that I think of it for this design.* I have a short tutorial at the end of this post for it is actually a really simple marble design. I used OPI’s Mermaid Tears and In My Back Pocket as well as Bettina’s Onix for this design. Instead of using white as a base I used Mermaid Tears which worked great to show full opacity of all the colors. I then topped it off with Lacquer Lust’s I like it Ontop and then Glisten and Glows HKgirl topcoat. I used Lumina Lacquers Peculiar Pumpkin Posse on my thumb which has pumpkin holo glitters in it! Also check out them square pretties! Finally was able to file em down, I like them much more this way

Close up of this amazing glitter topper from Lumina Lacquer, Peculiar Pumpkin Posse over OPI Mermaid Tears. I added some extra pumpkins glitters that I didn’t get out of the bottle since hey they are pretty big glitters. Moons, hearts, diamonds and so many other glitters fill this baby up.

For supplies needed check out one of my other tutorials HERE. This is going to be a super quick tutorial so if you have any questions afterwards please ask. This design works better with shorter nails.

1) Create your desired bullseye. I used five rings of colors for my bulleyes.

2) Take your stick and drag from the middle to the sides of the cup.

3) Do this again from the middle to the other side of the cup.

4) Find the largest part of the half circle, line up your nails and dip it.

5) Leave your nail submerged while you pick up the excess polish ontop of the water.

6) Take off the tape you used to keep your finger clean and then use an orange stick/qtip/cleanup brush to further clean around your nail and cuticle

image

*After looking at it you really wouldn’t have to even make a design in the water like I have here. I think I did this so that the lines would be straighter for if you didn’t do strokes from the middle to the rim of the cup it would you would get more curved lines in your design*

*Edited*

*I wrote this post too quickly and too late at night so forgive me on that one.*

Halloween Anyone?: Double accent Water Marble

OH people let me tell you something, Corynn has survived past this week for she had three exams and a bunch of other craziness that occurred this week, and now yes, now it is the freaking weekend and she is one HAPPY mofo! Broke down on Wednesday this week and did my nails for I was just over studying for all my exams and the pretties needed some attention.

Received an order from Bettina Cosmetics this week, for they are only available in Florida and Puerto Rico, and was just so excited to use them. Their creams are like a dream send for water marbling. I used Purple, Starfish and Onix for a double accent watermarble and then threw some of Rainbow Honey’s Yoshimi overtop of Bettinas Purple and Starfish on my outer nails. Kind of was inspired by the black and white glitter for I shall be honest I have never used before, black and white glitter that is. Kind of cray cray how awesome it can make any color look and it goes so well with the marble, just gives it that extra pazaz and its pretty Halloweeny if I do say so myself. Topped her all off with Glisten & Glow’s HKgirl topcoat to seal it all off, my current fav topcoat.

Couldn’t help but to take a few photos with some mellowcreme pumpkins which I always buy over the candy corn. Realizing just now that I don’t have a bowl of candy in the house. Must rectify this issue ASAP.

Ran outside the next morning to take some photos in the sun and noticed this little guy on my mums. It may look creepy to some but nature is always beautiful in my eyes and it was nice to enjoy a few seconds with this bumble bee eating on the flowers in the cold of the morning.

So now that I am done with this blog and the rest of my week I am pretty much feeling like Ron Swanson when he hears that bacon is ready.

ILNP Birefringence & Water Marbling

Yes, yes Time Gunn. I feel the same way about I Love Nail Polishes Birefringence. I had this beauty on my shelf for far too long and oh my I am one happy chica just to own it! This week in class my nails have gotten noticed more then when they are just water marbled. All the girls had no idea that one polish could give this effect, and it is pretty bomb. Two coats of shifty goodness changing into all the colors of the rainbow! No way could I get an accurate photo on my iPhone but it still looks so fab. Wish I could show you this under the water but you’ll just have to see for yourself, it will be worth it, I give you my word loves!

Ooo another clear and one color water marble! YEZ loving the simplicity of this marbling technique, easier to clean up then a full on one. Used OPI nail envy and Aenglands Excalibur to go over this already jaw dropping shade. The speckles of silver from excalibur kind of mingled into the clear part giving even more shimmery awesomeness!

This pretty much sums up my overall feeling about this. Thanks project runway.

Skittle Water Marble – Creams & Holographics

Super Duper quick post on this skittle water marble I conjured up this weekend! Got a text from my mom on friday saying “breathe do your nails, my fierce fab rainbow warrior”. This was just what I needed to hear when the weekend started. The stress is just killing me!!!

tumblr_lvxk7z8lZE1qiol6o

So I listened to her advice and did my nails! I was totally inspired by Yasmeen (IG: @sloteazzy) a new to me artist on instagram. She did a banging marble where she used a combo of a cream and holographic polish together. GENIUS! Did a bunch of tests with different color combos and I couldn’t resist to do a rainbow skittle. I used 12 different polishes for this piece of work! Lacquer Lusts Topaz, Emerald, Pink Tourmaline and Tanzanite; Color Clubs Cosmic Fate, Kismet, Miss Bliss and Eternal Beauty; Bettina’s Starfish Cerise and Purple; and Zoya’s Hunter. WHEW! I really love the combo of creams of holo’s together!

Breast Cancer Awareness Zoya Water Marble

What a crazy week! Just thinking about my next exams, which happen to all be on the same week, has been killing me. I feel like I have been stressing more then I have been studying, thats a big problem. I find myself doing this throughout the day, way too much.

emperor

What to do when you are this type of situtaion I ask? Sit yourself down and do something you really love and want to do. In my case today it was writing some on ze blog while listening to my new fav singer, LORDE. Love her!

This past sunday I sat at my table of joy, my nail table, browsing my now SIX shelfs (I think it might be helmer time) of all the beautiful colors I could choose from to marble with. Of course I have a stupendous amount of untried’s to use but that usually never dictats what kind of water marble I am going to conjure up on a sunday night. After many tests, tons of combos and lots of swatch sticks, the beauty you have before you was born.

image

At first I was quite hesitate on doing this girly look as I like to have some what of a purpose behind the color choices I make and these ones just kind of worked at random. Later in the evening, after I finished my nails, someone on instagram posted about how October was Breast Cancer Awareness month. I must of totally been totally vibing because I haven’t done a pink marble in forever. I personally lost my father to throat cancer when I was 16 and support awareness of any kind. Looking back I think that if I had known about october being all about pink, besides halloween of course, that I would of done this all in the pink colors. But I love purple so hard I’m letting it slide, plus my thumb is marbled pink ;)

image

In this photo you can see how well these Zoya shades blended together, the pink ones especially. I can’t get enough of the awesome randomness water marbling can create. I am so unartistic in real life but when I marble I feel all pro and junk. Suppose I am, haaa!

image

All together I used six Zoya creams for this manicure. Shelby, Lara, Areej, Perrie, Audrina and Mira. As you can maybe tell I was sort of going for an ombre look on each nail. I also tried some other combos in green and blue  but these were working out way better. I used Cult Nails ‘Tempest’ as my white base and used Glisten & Glows ‘HKgirl’ topcoat which I be totally loving on.

image

Here we are up close and personal with my two middle fingers. It looks like I dipped them together but  I actually did them separately. As I mentioned before the pink shades blended together very well and I was able to create a very tight nice looking marble.

image

Another dominant hand appearance! I am always writing in class and at home studying so my poor dominat hand’s cuticles aren’t as nice as the other. But the marbles on this hand came out more to my liking because the lines are just so distinct. Really love these pink Zoya creams.

image

The next day I threw on some of Nail Pattern Boldnesses ‘Alpha Nail’ which I happingly won in a giveaway from Llarowe. It gives theses colors such a nice shimmer and tone, hard to photograph on my phone but I can’t stop staring even more now.

YAY!!! NOW I FEEL LIKE THIS!!!

tumblr_inline_mtyrztiz9P1ryhus5

All good things are happening! Not sure how much I’ll be able to do meh nails in the next couple of weeks but I’m gona keep my head up and get things done the right way, just like these guys did, well better then them but you get the idea.

Anybody else showing support for breast cancer awareness month? Tag your photos to #muckingawareness and I’ll take a look I’d love to see em!

MUCKING LOVE YOU ALL! <3
